Friday Fill-Ins: Dec 9

FFI

Anyone in the holiday spirit? I'm getting there. So...here we go!

1. As I neared the door, I found out the lock was almost destroyed.

2. Friday Fill-ins is what I'm reading right now. It's a Friday meme for bloggers.

3. I didn't start out this way, you just got so silent.

4. I can't force you to tell the truth.

5. The best way to live is live each day with GOD.

6. This is the reason I am happy!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to work, tomorrow my plans include working again and Sunday, I want to take a little rest before hitting work!

August 2011 Part II: Visiting Tagum's Christ the King Cathedral

After attending our friend's wedding at CAP Auditorium in Tagum, we're set to go back to Davao City to take part in some Kadayawan Festival activities. But we just can't miss one thing -- a visit to Christ the King Cathedral. Unsure of where it is located, we headed to Apokon Road and we asked several people about it. We hit the road going to the cathedral after we're sure of its location and til finally get into the place.
The view is really great in there. It's a big place that can hold to a vast number of people. I love the cross at the back of the cathedral itself and the back view of the cathedral. Serenity of the place is also there. It's a quiet place good for reflection and discernment. The front view of the cathedral by the way includes the sculpture of two dolphins and some other sculptures. I've learned this was done by a famous Davao artist who's also responsible for making the sculptures found in People's Park. We enjoyed our visit there as pics were taken for souvenirs.

August 2011 Part 1: A Friend's Wedding

August is a joyous occasion in Davao City because of the celebration of the Kadayawan Festival which happens on the 3rd week. In this joyous celebration, a lot of events are held. There's the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan participated by a lot of contingents, the floral float parade participated still by the contingents plus the business firms, a "Kaan-Dawet" along Davao's city street (this year it was in Roxas Street) where there are a lot of foods stalls for the people to eat and a live band entertainment is there to amuse the general public, and who could ever forget the beauty contest which is the Mutya ng Kadayawan.

This year, August 2011, my friends and I took part in the said celebration. We, though, took part on the very last day of the said event on a Saturday. It was actually a whole day of fun for us, the berks, because we started so early and went home early morning of Sunday, the very reason why I have to blog it in different posts since I do not want to make a very looooong post for this entry.

Now comes the first part: A friend's wedding.--->

We started to gather as early as 9:00AM at McDonald's because we need to attend to a friend's wedding being held in Tagum City. With friends in tow, we took a 1.5-hour trip to Tagum City and went straight ahead to the reception in CAP Auditorium. I loved how the reception area looked like. There were fresh flowers in the area. The lighting was also given much attention to. We arrived at the area just in time for lunch. There, the couple Rose and Mark met us. Rose, a close of friend of ours, embraced us because it's been a long while since we last met up with her since she left for the UK. She was too happy to see us. Well, another friend of ours got married, and funny since the girls in the group wondered who would be the next of us to get married. Lol. We have witnessed some parts of the program. We saw the couple danced, the cake and wine ritual, the traditional opening of the bell with lots of goodies in it, the lovebirds ritual, and the bouquet and stocking tradition. We also took lunch to satisfy our hungry stomachs and went on with taking pics before leaving for Davao.

We're so happy that our friend has finally found someone meant for her. We hope for a successful marriage for the both of you.

Mother Knows Best!

I kept mum about being linked to somebody to my mom over the years. I knew she ever had an idea ever since but I never told her about it. It was only two days ago, as we chatted on the phone, that I ever confirmed that to her. An immature act of the third person involved led me to open it up to her. It was actually funny, I mean the immature deed. It's just funny how this person can't seem to just move on when in fact she once mentioned in her Facebook status that she got reasons to be happy.

When telling this to my mom, she got no big reactions at all. Long before I told her about it, she already knew. The conversation I and Mom had was full of stories and tell-tales. We laughed over some things for hours and told her not to mind the persons involved in case they meet.

Deep inside, my heart was actually laughing about such immaturity.
I just hope she could move about. I hope she could get rid of such insecurity.
Everybody deserves to be happy, and I hope she could finally find it in her heart.
=)

Move On Girl

I thought it's all in the past. I thought everything's meant to be in the past.
But she hasn't moved on yet.
She's still the girl, the woman with insecurities along the side.

I thought you found your happiness.
Why insecurity is still in the picture?
You just made me realize that you're still living insecurely in what you made us believe your supposedly secured world.

July 2011 Manila Trip

I was indeed too lucky to be able to go to Manila and vice versa for only 155 Philippine peso. Funny coz the terminal fees, both in Davao International Airport and in NAIA Terminal 3, are more costly than my airfare. My special thanks to Cebu Pacific for my cheap flights and for continuously having affordable flights for every Juan. ;)

I was in Manila last July 22-25, 2011. I got no major reason to be there except for the fact that I just wanna spend my OFF days there, together with my friends whom I rarely see but often missed. I took a night flight of July 22 and I was glad that my friend, Joy, from my Ateneo days fetched me at the NAIA. It was past 10pm when I arrived. We immediately headed to their house in Las Pinas. As expected, we chatted until the wee hours of dawn. When I woke up, I was told that my friend left the house for work which I did understand. I had Manang, her house help, to offer me breakfast. She also left her laptop along with her wifi password for me to use. Really so nice and thoughtful of her to make me feel so welcome in their humble abode. After lunch of July 23, Manang ushered me to where the buses plying to Manila are stationed at. I knew I was then a stranger to that place but with my good vision and my ability to read, I well knew that I'd never be lost. When I reached Manila, I became confident because I'm a bit familiar with it already. I rode on a train via LRT heading to Taft where I'd be meeting my other friend Maf. It was glad seeing her after 4 years of not seeing each other. She's still the same, physically. Since my sister would be arriving from Palawan to Manila on that day, Maf and I had a side trip to NAIA 3 just to meet her. Aboard the Airport Shuttle for a minimal fee, off we went to the airport. There, my sister was waiting for us. We ate at Shakey's just inside the NAIA 3 and we took pics of the beautiful NAIA 3.

When my sister entered the boarding area waiting for her flight bound for Davao, Maf and I went to the Piazza at Venice in McKinley Hills. The view at night is spectacular. The catchy view which is the colorful fountain is very pleasing to the eye. I saw a lot of young people there and that was also the time when a band of promising artists had performed. There was also an ongoing bazaar at affordable prices. I just love the ambiance at the Piazza.

Since I'd gladly like to sing on a Saturday night, we went to a videoke/karaoke house in Makati CBD. There, we sang our heart's out. We danced and sang the night away.

Past midnight, we went home and this time, I stayed at Maf's house. Maf's family is very accommodating. Again before sleeping, Maf and I chatted. I had a good sleep too!;) The next day, Sunday, Maf had to work. We left their house and I stayed for awhile at Maf's work place in Makati while I waited for Joy's message. After an hour, Joy and I finally agreed to meet at Greenbelt along with Rems. We met at lunchtime and had lunch together at Conti's Pastry Shop and Restaurant along Greenbelt 2. I really loved the foods they have for their customers! All were so tasty and delicious, and they got big servings too! Tummy was so full on that day.

Afternoon of that same day, we met our friend Xtianne with hubby, Budi and we spent time just chatting and updating bout our own lives at Starbucks in Makati. I felt so good at that time because my Ateneo friend really took some time to spend time with me during my Manila stay.

My Manila trip 2011 is really one of my unforgettable trips because in this trip, I have had great memories spent with good friends.

Cebu Pacific's Piso Fare :)

Align Center
Proud to have availed this Piso Fare Promo last February 2011!:)

I was checking on my Facebook account sometime February before the Chinese New Year Celebration when a news feed from Cebu Pacific (we're FB-connected) announced that there's an ongoing Piso Fare promo. Without further ado, I logged in to their site to check if there were still flights available. At that time, I never had an idea where to go but because it's piso fare, I just considered many options. On first check, I was a bit disappointed because there were no promos found. I checked again on their FB account and there I saw a lot of bad comments about it from those wanting to take Cebu Pac's Piso Fare promo flights. Well, patience was in me at that time so I checked on the site again. Surprisingly, there were promo flights in place. When being prompted about where I wanna go, I first had in mind that I'd go visit Bohol again. However, I realized that I got more Bohol visits than in Manila so I opted to choose the Davao-Manila-Davao flights. After filling in the necessary details, I was surprised that I only had to pay 155 Philippine peso for that. Since I do not own a credit card, I opted to pay in one of their payment centers which is LBC. Copying all the booking details in my itinerary, I payed the amount required. After 48 hours of payment, I checked on my status and I got a CONFIRMED flight for July 2011 with a round-trip Davao-Manila-Davao tickets!

I was too happy being able to avail of the airline's Piso Fare Promo and still I'm hoping that I could get another promo fares soon. :)

To My One and Only Pamangkin

Note: This was a note I made for my niece who celebrated her birthday 2 weeks ago. I just missed her so much! I wish her well and may she always be strong and determined to succeed in life.

Dear Jeps,
Happy 12th Birthday to the precious and beautiful lady pamangkin of mine who still is and will always be my topmost fave "bata" in the whole wide world. You well knew how much I love you, how much your Papa Jem loves you, how much your Tita Amor loves you, much more of the love Daddy and Mommy is giving you. Circumstances are just so mean which draw us apart but it doesn't mean that we love you less( and still you know that). You just don't know how much we wanted you to always be with us. I know in God's time, there will still be a chance that we could all be together. Having been exposed to some of life's ironies, I wish you more strength as you grow up. I know you are a smart and a brilliant girl which we've always been proud of. I love you so much Jepz, your Magno Family loves you so much, and you know that. By the way, I owe you a date at any time of your convenience and we could watch movies, pig out, or play at Timezone.Just let me know when.
Finally, may GOD grant you the desires of your heart and may you be blessed with good health, and a strong heart as always.Take care of yourself dearie. Take extra care.
Once again, I love you and I miss you so much.
Happy Birthday
From your Darling Tita

A Simple Keepsake For A Friend

She's been a good friend to us, to me, and to everyone whom she considered special. We spent most times together during celebrations of life like birthdays, parties, or just a simple chit-chat anywhere at anytime. She's someone I consider a true friend. When I learned that she's leaving, I personally had a feeling with mixed emotions. However, reality has it and we need to face the thought that I may not be able to see her like I used to.

On the first week of October, I had the courage to make this simple slide show meant for her, also in behalf of the group. Finally during our last dinner with her, we showed it to her. Looking at her teary-eyed while viewing this also made me to shed some little tears, hahaha!

Seriously, she will be terribly missed but we're happy to where she's heading at.

Now take a glimpse of this simple keepsake for her:

A Visit at the Isla

This is another late post but it's never too late yet. Lol.

Well, before a good friend of mine flew home from KSA, she mentioned about visiting Isla Reta, another great beach resort found in Talicud Island, which is more or less an hour boat ride from Davao City. When she got home in April, we did schedule an overnight getaway the next month.

In May 2011, three girls (that's me, Melds, and Tin) went out of the hustle-and-bustle city life and prepared to embrace the serenity in Isla Reta. We left Davao City via ferry at the Sta. Ana Wharf past 2pm. The trip took longer than expected because we took a passenger ferry that went to another island first before leading us to our destination. It was already past 4pm when we reached the place and it was about to get dark. Just as we arrived the area, my friend asked the resort personnel if there's still an available room for 3. Since it was a weekend, all accommodations were already filled up. Good thing, we bought a tent with us out of anticipation that we might not get a room for us. The crew was kind enough to help us settle the tent. The weather that night was participative. No signs of rain coming. Only the cool temperature did envelop us. As the tent was secured and in place, we took our dinner.

After taking some time to rest after eating, we decided it's time to test the waters and take a dip on them. Who can ever forget to take pics as we play and get into the waters? ;)

We called it a night before midnight and slept inside the tent.

In the morning, we were greeted by the sun rays, still with cool breeze. Immediately took our breakfast because we still longed to be in the waters in the morning. Post breakfast, all of us took a swim and everything became a part of the memory.

That visit in Isla Reta is one great memory of friendship and serenity I have held in my heart and will always be treasured.

Changes

The way I take life is constantly changing over the years. I knew I used to be so pessimistic but having this outlook doesn't give any help. It is useless. Pointless to be exact. Then it just happened when one day I felt like the positive energies were coming in. Swear, it was a different day from the usual. Since then, I did try to think of the positive things despite how negative they can be. Now, gone are the bad days, the thought of having bad days. Problems now, though taken seriously, are carefully been grasped upon. Trials, yes, we can never get rid of them but personally, I am trying to take them as challenges. If some things aren't meant for me, I'd rather let go although letting go is quite difficult to do. Family matters? Nothing much to worry. I am now savoring priceless moments with them whenever we can. I actually find joy in it. Where did I get my strength? From the lessons learned and of course, my FAITH which always saves me.

DELETED...

I finally got the nerve to delete someone on my FB whose friendship I used to cherish. I am certain that it's time I have to shy away from a person who just took me for granted. And now it is taking place. Congratulations to my total self for doing this. You did a great job!:D

I Made It!:D

After ranting about the difficulties I encountered in another English test, I was somewhat relieved when I learned that my final scores did qualify me to renew a certification based from abroad.

Yes! Its success makes me feel proud of myself because I invested my own money and dedicated my time for it. I used not to tell it to my family and friends because I was afraid bout its outcome. However because of my obvious moves, they still learned about it.

At long last, I surpassed another struggle!:)

Another Friend's Wedding

My friend Rochelle got married to her long time beau one fine day in April 2011. It was a beautiful wedding witnessed by the couple's closest kin and friends. I was one lucky lady to be invited to grace the special event.

The wedding was solemnized in Sta. Ana Parish Church along Guerrero and Sta. Ana Streets and reception followed at the Regency Hotel just within the city center.

To Mr. and Mrs. Arienza, my best wishes for a very blissful and successful marriage.=)

A Temporary Relief

After taking the challenges in my speaking and written tests last weekend, I was temporarily relieved. Tensions have subsided and I'm back to becoming calm and worry-free. How did I fare my exams? I was confident with the speaking part though there was a slight twist in some of my answers. It depends though if the interviewer was satisfied with how I was answering her questions. The written tests, on the other hand, was okay but still I am not confident if I got my answers right. As of this very moment, I am discreetly nervous. Results will be out after two weeks and I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

Your Relationship Status

I've just learned that you're officially in a relationship. I knew you were already but did not just update your social network info. However, last night you made it known to the world that you're in a relationship with somebody I of course do not know personally. Its impact on me? Not anymore great. Why? Because I knew I never existed and you never were. We've just known each other virtually and these eyes of mine had never saw your face for real. But despite that, I still made myself proud knowing that I was once your virtual great friend, someone you admitted that you found comfort with with talking, and someone who knew all your fears but had encouraged you to beautifully deal with life. Too bad that friendship came to an end for that unacceptable reason of yours. Right now, I wish you happiness. I wish you value your relationship with your recent girlfriend. I wish you grow up to be the man you want to be - a man without fears, a man always ready to conquer the world despite all the obstacles that may come along.

I knew one day, you would look back and remember me - my words, and my person and the influence I made into your life.

Friendship Turns Sour?

I have known you for quite sometime. But I have known you much deeper from the day we worked together in a certain area. I never had any negative thoughts about you. I was just observant on how you're dealing with everybody and the world. I think I gained your trust because you told me things I never thought you would share. I apologize though if sometimes I confront you for things you failed to appreciate in yourself. I often tell you to forget about those painful heartbreaks. These people especially guys, didn't deserve to have you in the first place. Even if I don't directly say it, I am very much concerned about you especially in the realm of relationships. The times that we're always talking, I feel proud myself because I knew I am trustworthy. When you also need silence, I just respect that.

However lately, things have turned out differently. I could not exactly identify where did I go wrong. It even worsen knowing that we're not talking like we used to plus the fact that I can't exactly tell where did I go wrong. I used to think that maybe, I am just too noisy at that time or perhaps you're not just in the mood. If it was about something that I've said, I can't exactly recall which part of it did piss you off.

These days, I realized I may not be really a friend to you.
Because if I were, I would have known the truth why you turned sour.
And everything would have been like how it used to be.

Finally, I only have this to say:
I did never do anything to disappoint you.
In case I may have hurt you in a way, I terribly am sorry.
For now, I do respect the gap between us.
Only TIME can tell as to where this friendship would lead to.

Girl Bonding with My Friend

She's my high school friend. After high school, we less saw each other. Later I've learned was she got married to a foreign national. Whenever I go home to my hometown, I could not remember her going home even on special occasions. Later did I learn that she now stays for good with her family in another Asian country. It is only through Facebook that we found each other. =) Thank GOD really for FB and aside from me, she also rekindle her friendships with our other high school friends.

Last month, she went home with her two young lovely daughters in tow. I really appreciated her having to travel on long flights with still small kids. Her eldest is 5 and her youngest is 2. I've learned that her eldest is already responsible for herself. During her vacation here, I was more than glad that she found time to accommodate and see me despite her busy schedules. On one particular August day, we met up and spent hours together where she termed it as a "Girl Bonding Night". Indeed it was a girl bonding night because we had dinner just the two of us at Trellis 'N Vines along F. Torres and we savored the tasty and juicy baby back ribs including the veggie and soup we ordered. After getting our tummies filled, we went to K1 Spa and pampered ourselves with their special foot spa and massage. It was really nice because my tired feet was pampered again after a tiring day's work. We spent for more than an hour inside the spa. It wa already past 10.00pm when we went to Cups and Lowercase, a bar and a coffee shop and we spent more hours there until 12 midnight. That "Girl Bonding Night" we had was one of the most relaxing moments I've ever had in my whole life without having to think much of the responsibilities I have to deal with in my everyday life. =) Really thankful for this wonderful friendship I shared with Mrs. H.Y.. 'Til our next bonding with some of our batch mates!=)

It's PayDay!=)

The most awaited moment has finally arrived and it's already payday! Actually been waiting for it since I still got financial obligations at hand. Bills. A minor credit which I did something beneficial is also amongst them. Whoa! Really such a kind of relief that we did get what we truly deserve. Now my pocket is happy, hoping this will last for many days before our next payday again.;)

I So Want To Travel (Again!)

Yes. I so want to travel again and this time I'd like it to be up north again! I wanted to embrace the beauty of nature in Northern Luzon. Perhaps a trip to Olongapo or even to Baguio will do. I was browsing on FB one time and I got hooked to an agency (sorry forgot its name) that takes tourists to places at an affordable package. I even liked their page on FB. Now I am contemplating bout taking myself to any of their nature trips and hopefully I could have the chance to be part of their journeys. Target date? I want it before the year ends. I hope I could really fulfill this longing of mine.

It's a great way to make new friends! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Silent Feud

Silence.
This is how we are these days. Reasons? I never had an idea. I was just surprised when after all the silence incurred during our last shift at work together, I found out that we're starting not to talk. In my case, I plead not guilty for it. I just didn't bother to not talk to the person because I wanted to give her the space she's needing but I didn't expect it would last for how many days. What does her silence did to me? I got my share of paranoia. I just can't help thinking why. I do not want to create an issue out of it but somehow everything's out of the box as if we're on a top showbiz headline. For now, I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am not guilty. I am still hopeful that everything's gonna turn out right.

Too Little Time

I will be taking an exam this month. I am still unprepared but I already did file for the exam that's happening in the next two weeks. I know I am less prepared but I can't afford to spend another one month just waiting for the exam to be realized. I want to free myself from my worries and anxieties. Despite the less preparation I got, I still am positive that I could pass my exam.

Anxiety Level Rises!

I think I've blogged bout retaking my IELTS. My last test was in 2006 and I need to retake it as a requirement for a certain renewal. Honestly, I am anxious, just mildly anxious! Who wouldn't be? I only get a few hours for review plus I am working at the same time. It's not anymore like before when reviewing was my only main concern at that time. These days? I can only get to attend my review classes when my sked permits me to. Too bad! I got duty rotations. Who wouldn't be anxious then when I am not really fully prepared? I just can't afford to fail because of the costly more than 9k IELTS fee.

I just hope I can surpass this challenge of passing the IETLS soon.
Please help me pray.

Page Rank Minus 1

Hello Fellow Bloggers.
I do not want to apologize for not blogging. Why? It's simply because I always get the same reason over and over again. Embarrassing. Yes. But my reason is valid. Very much valid.=) By the way, I just checked my page rank. Surprisingly, my page rank of 3 went down to page rank of 2. What do you expect? Less posts. Less entries. Only memes. Certainly, it would went down. Lucky though coz it didn't reach page rank 0 (I hope not!). Still I am proud coz all my 3 blogs are all on page rank 2 which is not really bad at all. For now, I'm gonna post stuff when I can and yes, no promises and no apologies. I just want to blog at anytime I want to.

I Miss My Niece Terribly!

I haven't since my niece for one month now. I know where she's located but I tell you, I've never been to where she is now where she was brought by her mom. I just miss her and I can't stop thinking bout her future. I've learned she stopped schooling because of her mom's decision. What a decision a mom could make when everything's still uncertain for that kid to obtain her visa. She could have been in school now and not labeled as out-of-school youth. I feel sad about her quitting school. I mean, she's very smart and competitive and usually excels in school. If only I could always be with her which is way impossible because her mom just hated me so much. :(

I miss you my darling little niece.
Tita loves you so, so much!

Disappointed!

At work last night, I got so disappointed with a supposedly someone I look up to. Talking to her on the phone was like a nightmare. I mean, I understand her at times but the situation that occurred last night was inexcusable. It was me up became the front-liner of so many questions which some I can't anymore answer. I hope this has to be remedied upon. After all, it's not only me who's gonna be saved, but her as well.

Just disappointed though.
Just hope she'd try to weigh things out and be more mindful of her job.

Classic Soul Music, I Love!:D

I am so addicted with Classic Soul Music lately. I think I already have outgrown the upbeat songs I used to fancy about when I was still in college. It all started when I used to tune in to Crossover 93.1 FM and I began to like the songs being played. I found every song so soothing to my ears and it gives me a sense of relaxation especially after a tiring day's work.

These days, classic soul has become a part of my routine. It has become a part of my day to day activity, say after getting home from work. Believe me, I really do feel good whenever classic soul music keeps me company. :D

Enough

Enough. Enough.
This word has been overused and abused for many times already. I just don't know why I think about this word every time I realize the craziness and stupidity I'm in most especially when it comes to matters of the heart. I always say "enough" when realizations step in and when I find myself too weak and too tired to fight for anything. However, any shade of light or an in inch of hope would seem to make me forget that word.

Still it's stupidity. Call me insane. And I think that's how I was and still is for as long as I keep on believing on the impossible. When will I ever learn? When will I ever get to accept the reality that what I want is not attainable?

I hope I could someday give justice to the word.
I hope it will be soon.

Reunited with Nat :D

Nat was home. Yes, she was home last May with her family including her baby boy who was baptized here. She and her family came all the way from Ireland just to visit her beloved family here in the Philippines. Thank GOD she found time to meet us, her friends back here.:D

Looking back, Nat and I knew each other since nursing school. We're always partners in our nursing return demonstrations. It was fun having her around coz despite the fact that she's gone through a lot (and she's older than me but looks so young still), she manages to be a friend, a very funny and accommodating friend to everyone.

With her going home last May, we managed to get together with some friends over dinner.:D It was such a pleasant night to be reunited with friends again.:D

My 2011 Birthday!:D

This post is so late. Well, my apologies. But it's better late than never that's why I am sharing this.

Two months ago today, I celebrated my birthday. It's another 30-ish birthday. I had a pre-birthday celebration with my family and on my very birthday, I celebrated it with my friends. It was just a simple celeb. I treated them @ Dencio's Sa Hilltop overlooking the city of Davao at night. We had an inexpensive dinner because the foods are just affordable. After dinner time, we headed to Matina Town Square to pass the night away. It was just a typical birthday celeb but most importantly, I did thank GOD for adding another year into my life. I just hope I grow more mature and more confident and aggressive as I approach more days into my life.

My deepest gratitude to everyone who remembered me on my special day.:D

A Godmother to Jillianne :D

Today, I became a godmother to a beautiful baby who happens to be the daughter of a dear friend. Again, for the nth time, I pledged and vouched to guide my goddaughter as she grows up. The celebration took place at San Pablo Parish along Juna Subdivision here in Davao City.

Being invited to be a godmother will always be an honor to me. Not all are given the privilege to stand as a godparent. A godparent's role is never about the gift a godchild has to receive on his birthdays or on Christmas Holidays, but rather it is merely about being the light, the guide, the adviser of a godchild as he/she grows to be a worthy man on earth.

To my "Inaanak", Jillianne M., I welcome you to the Christian World!:D

Back To Working Out!:D

Yes! You've read it right. I'm back to working out once again after more than a year of not going to the gym. Well, I was once a member of Holiday Gym and Spa a year ago at an affordable cost but when my membership expired after three months, I wasn't able to renew it. I only resort to HipHop Abs at home. When our DVD player got wrecked, I didn't have any choice but to stop. That started with me feeling guilty for not being able to work out once again, plus the fact that I've been eating a lot (again!).

A month ago, a friend of mine invited me to try it out again this time. Without further ado, I got convinced. Now, I am working out again at BeeFit in Quirino Avenue. I didn't get the membership though. I am on a per session basis.

Now that I'm working out once again, I just really feel so good physically! Gym-ing (if there's a term such as that) has become a part of my routine. I only get to visit the gym like twice or thrice a week but it still does me any good. Even if I really feel so tired and feel like working out, I really manage to hit the gym by all means. Well, I just hope this doesn't change as days go by.:D

5. Trust is very essential.

6. I have a watch that glows in the dark.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to work, tomorrow my plans include going home after work and Sunday, I want to a Christening celebration!

Overly-Concerned Tita

I got this one and only niece in this world and I've loved her like any other kids ever since she was born. I nursed her as a kid. I became her nanny, her playmate, and even acted like her own teacher/mother when we're together. 0-5 years old, she lived under the care of my parents but things have fallen apart between her parents, making her be apart from us. Twas one of the most painful experiences we used to have. There was never a time during those early years of separation from her when I found myself crying whenever I think about my niece and her future. I admit, we're emotionally struggling and we're hurt (because of deprivation) when we less see her but we can't do anything because her "boss" rules over her.

Lately, the family has gone startled. She told us she'd quit schooling because her "boss" told her so. Who wouldn't have been hurt again? Being a smart kid, we knew she deserves to be educated coz we believe she's gonna create a name someday. But look what "her boss" has done unto her? I don't want her to succumb on false hopes. I don't want her to be frustrated. She has the right to be given a proper education.

Right now, communication seems hard between us and my beloved niece. I just wish she's safe. I just wish she'd be treated nicely. And I just wish she's not deprived of anything in this world. I just love her so much, that's why I'm overly concerned about her right now.

Lord God, I lift up everything to You. Please keep her safe.
I just love her so much.

Marcelito Pomoy Wins Pilipinas Got Talent 2

I know this is a long overdue post since "Pilipinas Got Talent" Season 2 Grand Finals took place like 2-3 weeks ago, but I just can't help but post this Youtube clip (thank you soniacaboom) from PGT Season 2 Grand Finals that shows the performance of my bet none other than Marcelito Pomoy.

While watching it on TV, I was actually teary-eyed. I mean, such an ordinary man like him, he deserves to be discovered and applauded, with the exceptional talent he got. Not all can sing like him who's been gifted with a male and a female voice at the same time. Having him as PGT Season 2 Grand Finals, I know Marcelito Pomoy will be super famous in time!:D

Here's Marcelito Pomoy's winning piece:

Still Chasing My Dreams!

At my age right now, I am still on the verge of chasing my dreams. I have big dreams, in fact. I know one day, they will all be realized. I am just taking it so slow for now. At least, I am still doing things I expect to be doing - making my days a bit busy than usual. I know someday, all the dreams I've wished for, if they're really meant for me, will just fall into place. Right now, I am still doing some preparations - preparations that will be beneficial in the future.

So help me GOD.

Sad June 29, 2011 for Davao

The people of Davao should have been in the event of merry-making that day of June 29 because it is actually Davao City's fiesta - the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Davao's patron saint. I personally should be overwhelmingly happy myself because my parents are here to celebrate my Dad's birthday also happening that day.

However, despite our scheduled activities for the day in celebration of Dad's birthday (we all heard mass as a family, dined on a buffet restaurant, and watched a movie on 3D altogether), I just can't help but think about the sad events happening on that very day.

On that afternoon of June 29, there was an accident that happened along the corners of McArthur Highway and Cuyugan Avenue in Matina where a 6-wheeler dump truck allegedly lost its brakes that hit a Suzuki multicab, a bus, and a taxi. It was like a domino effect when it happened. There were four casualties and a lot were injured who were then brought to nearby hospitals. It was really a saddening event that afternoon.

That night of June 29, rain poured so heavily causing flash floods along Matina and Bangkal areas. I could personally not believed at first that it happened because it's the first time in my existence that it has ever occurred in the city. I knew some friends who reside in those flood-stricken areas and yes, flood did invade their homes. Hearing their stories make me feel sad because some will gonna be starting from scratch again.

As of this writing, rescue operations are still ongoing. Since it happened and until today, I continuously pray to GOD to always keep us safe from any harm and calamities.

GOD, please give us a safe Davao and a safe Philippines.

The Seriously Random Question Meme, Part 3

Today we ripped off a blogger known as blogger and blog named PT-LawMom. It is not her first trip to this rodeo, we've victimized her once before, in August 2008. Since it's long we will do it in parts. She does not say where she ripped it. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
