Sunday Stealing: The Just Because Meme

Today we ripped this meme of a blogger known as Demonaduerre from the blog Because I Still Love You. He does not remember where he grabbed it. But it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

Missing Music!

I am self-confessed music addict. It best explains my thoughts and my feelings. However, things turned out rough the past few months (hence, my TGIF entries) and I somewhat left music behind. I temporarily detached myself to listening on the songs I used to hear and I simply left my radio off the whole time. One can't even hear me sing songs during those days.

Today, I started to reunite myself with music. I realized how much I missed it because I turned on the radio with loud speakers on. I got to sing songs & I even wanted to sing out loud now on karaoke.

I guess I can't really live without music. Music has become my life and music has become a part of my world. I just can't hate nor dislike music, ever!

No More House Helper

It's been more than a week since our house helper left without notice. That only means we should take charge of every household job at home. Since I am not much into cooking, I take time to clean the house. Each of us will do our own laundry and ironing of clothes. So far, we have harmony here at home when it comes to who's doing what.

It's a blessing in disguise that SHE left. At least we can get to be more responsible at home plus, I can't bare to keep somebody who's after her salary but didn't work hard for what she's been paid for.

I'm Back! :)

I've been away for like more than a week. So sorry I haven't updated this blog. I was busy at work for how many days since my last post then I had gone out of town with my parents to Bohol, my land of birth. I don't have a laptop with me that's why I wasn't able to update this blog. I really did enjoy the quiet and private moments I spent with my family! Twas really great having to spend time with them . How I wish I could even extend my 5-day break but I must return from work. As of this writing, I am about to resume to work. Again, I'd like to reiterate, I am Back! I am so back! ;)

This week has been great. Thanks to all those wonderful people I just met for the compliment. Thanks also to a trainee who got me talking about it, haha! Now am proud that I've deleted some pics already (yehey!)..

Til my TGIF entry (if I can't forget making one)! ;)

Friday Fill-Ins: #176

And...here we go!

1. I just had my entry about my election experience posted in my blog.
2. Home is where the heart is.
3. The third sentence on the 7th page of the book I'm reading: none cos i haven't read any these days.
4. Ice cream tickles my fancy.
5. I was walking then hid under the stairs was the scene of my recent dream.
6. The dream I just had this morning makes me laugh!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to go home early after work, tomorrow my plans include working & perhaps go to Mam Tsik's house for the after-work FUN and Sunday, I want to hear mass in the morning which I hope I could fulfill!

My Automated Election Day Experience =)

I came from a graveyard shift that day. I knew I was sleepy & tired but prior to going home with colleagues, I still managed to look my best in pictures since one colleague brought along her D5000 Nikon DSLR cam. We even paved the hallway with happy thoughts about the election amidst the rain that invaded Davao on that day. Majority of my colleagues have gone excited because it's their first time ever to cast their votes! What we really hoped that time was the cessation of rain since it will be the day when people from all walks of life will be there at their own precincts to vote. We're still thankful though cos we got such gloomy weather unlike the unbeatable heat experienced in some areas in the Philippines. Now look at me in this pic? Do I really look that sleepy? I just thanked GOD we never had a hard time in our shift and we still looked relaxed like we've slept for the night. I went home with friends and agreed to accompany a colleague who's precinct was located in our subdivision. Guess what we found? This was actually Yvonne P and I found.

There were lots of people flocking in the area. Since it was raining, mud was stuck in my shoes & in my white pants. I haven't eaten breakfast too! I decided to just go home, eat, and get some sleep and rest. When I got home, I got myself a 2-hour power sleep while leaving the television channeled at ANC on. When I woke up, I decided to go online and logged in to my Twitter account while at the same time listening to latest election updates. I got surprised with all the complaints that it took a minimum of 4 hours for the majority to cast their votes especially those who were early birds in the precincts (so unbelievable!). I found out that a priority numbers were given in some precincts to ensure order in casting their votes. My sis even went home after visiting her precinct and decided to go back later afternoon to cast her vote because she just couldn't take waiting for long hours. I decided I'd cast my vote later too! While passing the time away, I payed more attention to election updates plus reading also the complaints of some citizens who spent hours in their precincts. I also found time to list all the candidates I should be voting. Thanks to my Dad's sample ballot that I got to have the list of those candidates running for a senate post. It was past 4:00PM when my sis and I headed to our respective precincts. When I got to my own precinct, I was surprised because there were only a few people around the vicinity. I was even welcomed by a poll watcher, assisted me to look for my name & the number assigned to me, then led me to the Board of Election Inspector who took my thumb mark, had me signed in a paper & handed me my ballot. I was a bit surprised with the length of the ballot, haha! When I got into the chair, I first read the instructions posted on the wall then slowly took out my copy. With just a pen, I made my choice of people whom I'd like to run the country. After casting my votes, I was led to the so-called PCOS machine and asked me to slip in my ballot. It was a sigh of relief when I've read 'CONGRATULATIONS' in the machine. Before I went out of the room, an indelible ink was placed in my finger. So unbelievable that it only took more than 10 minutes for me to cast my vote!=)

Now this pic makes me so proud to have joined millions of Filipinos who participated in the 1st EVER Philippine Automated Election! =)

A Realization

The past four (4) months was like a waste. I started the year being so pessimistic of what's in store for me considering the fact that I didn't like the new work environment/place assigned to me starting January 1 of year 2010. Seriously, I was somewhat depressed and negative forces were attacking me. I even lost weight! Added factor was when someone I considered a friend left me hanging. I was really overruled with negativism until realizations finally crawled in. It was during my birthday when I fully embraced the good side of every downfall & disappointment.

Now? I am facing life positively. I make it a point to smile. I make it a point to talk to people, even to strangers.
I am also enjoying the company of friends and most importantly- family moments which we always try to have lately.

I never thought bout anything negative anymore. I don't care bout what other people might say against me. What matters to me now is the way I face life in a more positive manner which I hope won't ever change.

Saturday 9: Hey Jealousy

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

4. How many times must someone push your buttons before you've just had enough? Why? **(I think) many times because the sad part is you still expect things to turn out right that's why there are still a lot of considerations. However, if enough is really enough, then be it.

8. How many online journals/blogs do you read regularly? What are some of your favorites and why? ** I read blogs regularly like 5 blogs per week especially those who also participate in memes. My fave of course is my blog (hahaha!) plus I also read other blogs via memes too!:)

Unbeatable Davao Heat!

Many years back, I used to get excited at the thought of summer because I knew I'd get to spend some time at the beach with either my friends or my family. This year, summer is really different! Long before it started in April, the heat was already unbeatable! Imagine waking up at early dawn and you're really sweating so bad! Even when I finish taking a bath, I always find myself sweating already! No wonder why GMA stars called it "Pawis Pilipinas" when GMA's noontime show "Party Pilipinas" hit Davao City last Sunday!

I just hope this terrible heat won't stay longer. I hope this will end after summer. Can't wait for colder days!

Thank God It's Friday! (Week #5)

Thank God for last Friday!
I almost forgot that I had to post an entry about it. Last Friday went a bit great! It was my first time to enjoy doing my task as a discharging nurse. ;) Work ran smoothly. Nothing really great that happened. What was great was my after-work activity : getting myself a whole body massage! Yes, I was in dire need to get a massage because of my body pains and finally I got it last Friday (yahoo!).

I went home past 1:00AM with a feeling of satisfaction. Sleep went well until this morning. ;)
Thank God for that Friday yesterday!:)

Til my next TGIF entry!

Friday Fill-Ins: #175

And...here we go!

1. Salsa and tango are the kind of dances I can't imagine doing. LOL.
2. You got cheese and you've even got mustard.
3. By the time I get home I knew where to hit next.
4. Cheap finds is what I look forward to most when grocery shopping.
5. And I was dreaming I was (I think) home chatting bout my own political bets.
6. GOD's love...is there anything else better?!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to get myself a massage, tomorrow my plans include buying stuff in the market and Sunday, I want to sleep the whole day after my graveyard shift!

Election 2010

The first-ever automated Philippine Election is fast approaching. In three days, the Filipinos will be casting their votes to whoever they choose to govern the country. I just hope and pray that it will be a peaceful election away from all the dangers and threats related to it.

To all Filipinos all over the Philippines, this is the day - the day to exercise your right to choose, the right to vote for the right people meant to be in national and local positions.

Go out on May 10 and Vote Wisely!

Leisure After Work

I supposedly like to go home after a tiring AM shift last Tuesday. However, colleagues have asked me to join them in watching a movie. Without further ado, I agreed. Right after work, we headed to Gaisano Mall. There was an ongoing power interruption when we arrived. We strolled for a few minutes allowing ourselves to be relieved from the heat (and sweats!) we felt then headed to the cinema section of the mall. We finally decided to watch this movie:

It's a nice movie I would say!:)

Gone Busier...

Gone busier the past few days. I never had a day off yet. Can't wait for it this coming Monday! So far, I am trying my best to be more optimistic (this time!) with work and with the environment I'm in. I can't stay having that 'hate-feeling' forever at work. I know this is just one challenge that God has bestowed on me, so therefore, I must learn to live with it. Right now, I am trying to cherish those few good peeps I happen to work with without minding the negative elements scattered out there. So far, it's been doing me good. I just hope I can still maintain the confidence that I have while doing my tasks. Whew! Positive vibe na jud ko karun hehe ;)

Thank really GOD for every opportunity & I hope that YOU do guide me in my every endeavor.

Thank God It's Friday! (Week #4)

This should have been posted last Friday, April 30. Well, it's better late than never.

Thank GOD for my Fridays!
I thanked GOD for last Friday, and yes, it's the 4th week since that dreaded Friday.

Last Friday, I was on my busiest mode. Work started at 7:00AM and I was set to go on duty at Pedia Ward, where I once was. It was the busiest since there's nobody to help me out. I just thank GOD for the MDs who really did understand the situation. I was even at the brink of losing my patience since I experienced palpitations (and I was trembling at that) while trying to make 'that' person understood his very own concern, but GOD indeed showed me the way.

My shift ended with an empty stomach since I skipped lunch. At around 5:00PM, I ate my supposedly 'baon' for lunch.

Around 7:00PM, I spent time with my former trainees-turned friends and spent hours unwinding in a certain bar along F. Torres Street. I was really very conscious of the time and even wanted to go home earlier bcos my parents were here then in the city. (I so respect their concerns when they say they hate that part when we go home late.) I spent about 3 hours with them that night. Past 10pm, I got a text message telling me that my Dad was angry. When I reached home before 11:00PM, I was scolded and confronted. I just kept silent. Since I was way too tired, I fell asleep right away and I could no longer remember what he was saying.

Despite the confrontation I was getting at that time, I still am grateful for that Friday. =)

Til my next TGIF entry!

Well Spent Off Days!

'Had three (3) OFF days last week & every off day was great. Wasn't able to blog how my days went during those days bcos I was just too lazy to go online. Was also too excited because my birthday was also approaching then. I must say all my off days went great because I spent them with my family. =)

Let me just take a recap of the highlights:

Day 1 (April 27, 2010):

'tagged it as my 'sleep & rest' day because I spent the whole day sleeping since I came from a graveyard shift. It was even nicer to wake up in the morning with my parents around. Too bad electricity went off which left me sweating so hard!

Day 2 (April 28, 2010):

This is the day I finally made up my mind to spend my birthday with family and friends at Paradise Island Park & Beach Resort at Samal Island. Also a grocery day because we bought the necessary things needed for our beach escapade. After doing the grocery with my mom, niece and I headed to NCCC Mall and we spent hours at Timezone, just playing. I did enjoy that moment I spent with my niece.

Day 3 (April 29, 2010):

My birthday. The day when we had our beach escapade at Samal. Gone busy in the morning until we arrived in Samal. We did have fun though we're just a small group.:) The pictures could spell FUN in here. Please check them out.

This is all for now and I hope I could blog more in the next coming days!:)

Sorry for Un-Blogging!

Sorry for not making entries for the past days! I was too busy with my off days because my parents were here and besides I decided not to go online as often as how it was before. However, I really missed blogging which I hope I could cope up with (as always!).

Saturday 9: Changes

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Changes

1. Tell us about one thing that you'd change about yourself if you could. **If only I could be less sensitive, then I wouldn't succumb from getting hurt.

2. Mattel decides to make a Barbie-like (or Ken-like) doll of you -- what would be the most important accessory or accessories they would absolutely have to package you with in order to portray your lifestyle? ** add bangles & earrings to the doll ;)

3. Hey, do you like surprises? If yes, what kinds? **I hate surprises.

4. What was the last snail mail that you received that was significant? **It's a birthday card which I got last, last week from my friend DA who's now in Virginia, US.

5. If you could pick out a brand new nickname for yourself, what would you choose and why? **I like male names such as Alex, Sam, etc. ;)

6. John Edward's mistress was on Oprah this past Thursday. She stated that no third person can break up a marriage, so it had to be broken before the two started doing the nasty. Do you buy that? **I never had an idea bout it.

7. Do you think it is okay to keep secrets from your s/o? **Not really but admit it, sometimes we have secrets that we only keep for ourselves.

8. Have you ever played Truth or Dare? If yes, what's the weirdest dare that you did? **Yes but I haven't done any weirdest dare just yet.

9. What, in hindsight, the stupidest thing that you have ever done? **getting my secret blog revealed to the person who's been the subject of my entries. ;(

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
