Relaxing At Eden (2009)

So glad that my group of friends did push through with our plan to have an overnight stay @ Eden Nature Park and Resort in Toril, Davao City. Of course, the said getaway last October 17-18, 2009 would not be made possible if not because of ND, our balikbayan friend who came home for a vacation after staying for more than a year as an OFW in Kuwait. Excitedly, we met up at Mercury Drug-Toril at about 2:00 PM. Since it was only DD's car who's gonna take us all up there, I went ahead with ND, AM (ND's friend), and our preggy guest who happened to be RP's wife along with KC their daughter. Friends who cannot be accomodated yet in the car took time to do their marketing job at Toril's Wet Market. My friends and I finally reached Eden after a few minutes of travel. Immediately, ND and I headed to the office for check-in. After ND paid everything, we had a shuttle ushered us to the Pine Lodge - our precious accomodation courtesy of ND. We unloaded our things and unpacked them while waiting for the others to arrive. As soon as they arrived, we immediately grabbed the chance to visit Eden's Swimming Pool. We first took pics of the pool and of ourselves. After a while, we took a dip at the pool. Funny cos it was me who got into the pool last because it's way tooooo cooooold! I was freezing and shaking vigorously! It took minutes before I got used to the cold water inside. There, we had fun chatting, giggling, sharing jokes and taking pictures! Really had a good time at the pool. It's as if we owned it privately because we're the only ones in the pool area.
Since it's already getting late, we hurried back to the lodge. Everyone took turns in using all three shower rooms while some did heed up to cook for dinner. The chef of night? It was GC. He cooked Sinigang Na Hipon and Fried Hipon. Other foods for dinner include Sinugbang Isda and Sinugbang Baboy. When everything was set, we ate dinner. It was a great dinner cos everyone's burping after (LOL!). After dinner, everybody's got into the groove to whine the night away! Guys played cards while taking some sips of liquor. Yours truly had a single sip though cos I was way too tired and sleepless after coming from a graveyard shift. I just joined in conversations, eating pica-picas and got into the move in picture taking sessions. I never had an idea up to what time they remained awake because I was fast asleep after midnight. But I did have an idea that these guys were joking around inside the bedroom. LOL!

Early morning, I was awakened by RP making some noise to wake us all up. We immediately prepared for breakfast. Breakfast was composed of beaf steak, a scrambled egg, loaves of bread, plus coffees to all coffee lovers. We ate breakfast outside just adjacent to the dining area. Only difference here is we got to feel the fresh air outside. Again we spent much time chatting while eating breakfast.

Since we hardly had enough time left, we hurriedly got ourselves fixed for our guided tour. Past 9:00AM, a shuttle took us to a tour with a tour guide in tow to make us more familiar of the places of interest inside Eden. We passed along the Fishing Village, the Deer Park, a man-made forest with tall trees, the organice and herb garden with a collection of fruit trees. We stopped along three spots such as the Flower Garden and Amphitheater where beautiful flowers are found including the Prayer Garde, the Tinubdan that gives guests a glimpse of the Lumad life, and of course Lola's Garden. We also passed along their playgrounds, campsites, and even got a grasp on the paths of their mountain trail adventure which we greatly missed doing. For our final stop, we grabbed the chance to roam around the grounds of Eden. KC and her dad grabbed the chance to play at the playgrounds while we're doing the exciting Indiana Jones adventure. After sweating out during the tour, we had some relaxation at the top garden camwhoring, LOL! These are the memories we got during our 2-day getaway:

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color Blood red and the number 31.

1. So Halloween is this weekend, if you haven't heard. Are you gonna open your doors up or not? *Yes I will. It has never been closed on a Halloween except during hours of sleep.
2. You better open 'em cuz I'm coming... what are you putting in my treat bag? * Oh, I should have been told earlier. LOL. Are you male or female? So I would know what to put inside the treat bag. =)
3. Since October is the bestest month for television (well for cable & dish subscribers it is) and there is a horror movie on at any given time of the day - are you sick of them yet? *Nope, not yet. I love thriller movies. =)
4. Which one of those movies can you watch over & over again? *It's a Filipino movie named as Feng Shui starred by Kris Aquino, the Philippines' Horror Queen. Really got scared the first time I saw it.
5. Tell us about a Halloween scare you've had.... *Haven't had one. Not really that halloweeney.
6. Did you watch the old Casper cartoons when you were a youngin? Well, back then they weren't old I suppose, but I'm sure you still understand my question. *I haven't. Only the Casper movie is the one I can remember of.
7. Have you ever found a four-leaf clover? Nope.
8. Haunted Houses... you know, the kinds you pay to get in and they chase you with chainsaws and severed heads.... do you like 'em? *Haha, sounds cool to try it for as long as I can go home alive.. LOL!
9. Do you use cute cartoon type wrapping paper for Christmas presents or the not cutesy paper? Or are you one of those gift card and/or gift bag people? *the not cutesy paper are the ones I often use. Am a gift card person too!
10. How long do boiled eggs need to stay in the boiling water before they become hard boiled eggs? *I haven't noticed the time but I know it can be done that quick for as long as the water is already boiling to its core.
11. Jason is coming in through your front door... Freddy is coming through your back door... zombies are at every window of the house and Norman Bates is calling to invite you to dinner... what do you do? *I'd better get rid of them. I'm sure I can run as fast as they can.
12. Did you know that the scariest part of Halloween is giving all of your Reeses Peanut Butter Cups away? *Really? Never had an idea about it.
13a. If you were to play a part of a haunted house (not the ghosts in the attic kind), what would you want to be? *I'd like to be a bathroom with a tub full of blood.
13b. Have you ever played a part in a haunted house?
14. If Thursday Thunks had a Halloween party, what do you think Kimber & Berleen would come dressed as? *Perhaps they would dressed as Dracula.
15. Do you cook a turkey for Thanksgiving? *Nope. We don't have Thanksgiving here in the Philippines.
16. Have you ever read a book that scared the pants off of you? *None yet.
17. Whats the predicted high temperature for today? *31 degrees celsius in our place.
18. Have you ever howled at the moon? *Nope, haha!
19.You are in an alley and a werewolf and a vampire are coming at you - one of them has to win. Which one do you want to bite you? *Werewolf. I just wanna die quick. I don't wanna die slowly in agony. =)

Marco Polo Time =)

Better late than never that's why I apologize for posting this late. Last October 9, I had the chance to meet again my friends in the profession as we were gathered by Sir Ray, our foreign recruitment director, for a meeting @ The Marco Polo. It was a cozy meeting for me cos it was held in a comfortable, fully air-conditioned room situated @ the 3rd level of the hotel, exactly near the pool. The meeting was good though we kinda envied the personalities showcased in Sir Ray's VTRs wishing we could finally be like them working @ NC. Of course, the meeting wouldn't be complete without the snacks being served. We had pasta and chicken along with a large size iced-tea. The meeting only lasted for a few hours and off we went doing some pictorials, seizing the moments during our stay @ The Marco. These are the pics obtained:

Post-less Blogs

I have had an ample of blogs governed online. In fact, I even made money on some blogs during the first few months I was really into it. However, lately, I realized I never had time anymore to blog. I only visited them when I go online. Seems like I am always running out of ideas on what to write. I mean, this is so not me! I've been a certified blogger since Friendster days and I just love to write but now, I realized I never had the passion to write on some stuffs. I admit I am too busy with work and too busy with my extra-curricular activities. This must be the reasons why. Now, I'd really wanna get back into blogging which I deem to love the most and I do hope this will be realized as the days go by.

My Eyes Are Hurting Again!

My first and last eye check up was in the 3rd quarter of 2004 and oh boy, it was barely 5 years ago since I purchased my first eyeglasses. Now my eyes are constantly hurting again from strains, glares, and other stuff and I realized that now is the best time to really get in touch with my eye doctor. If I'd be able to purchase new set again, my favorite high fashion eyeglasses would be from Zenni's. These are my bets which I'd gladly like to have:

Fabulous eyeglasses, right? Now I can't really wait for my eye check up before the month ends!

Typhoon Ondoy Saddens Filipinos and the World

I've been active on Twitter and most of the persons I follow are from Manila. Earlier Saturday, September 26, 2009, I was alarmed by the tweets from Twitter that there was a continuous heavy rainfall all over Metro Manila and the northeastern part of Luzon. Sad part was when I came to see images of floods over the internet and the television as the effects of the heavy rainfall. It's really unbelievable cos I've never seen such houses drowned in the flood. Plus the aerial view of Metro Manila was so saddening. Another one that hit me most was a video clip of a family who rode a flowing rooftop off the river. Until now, I still can't believe that all these have happened. Already recited my prayers to the One Most High hoping that many Filipinos will be saved and will be given good lives. By the way, I found this heartwarming video @ Youtube. Kudos to its maker because it did touch my heart. I am now sharing this video so everyone else in this blogosphere would have an idea how Typhoon Ondoy did attack the Filipinos.
