The Can't Sleep Meme

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger named Catherine Donovan at the blog Marvel Not a Girl. She does not states where she found it. She grabbed it because she couldn't sleep. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all us thieves!

Don't forget to go visit the other participants' blogs. Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks! Thats what all this is about afterall, isn't it? We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color snow white and the number 8 (days until my birthday).

1. Sometimes when you are sitting around doing nothing, a thought randomly pops into your head. How many measuring cups do you own? *I think I have one back home

2. What is your favorite ice cream topping? *Marshmallows!

3. Egg nog - is it digestible? * I think so because you chew it first before swallowing haha!

4. Were you one of the insane humans who went to a store last Friday? *Nah, we don't have Black Fridays here.. ;)

6. Kids are funny sometimes and say the darndest things, but it's ok because they are kids and they are so adorable. A two year old is cute when they say a swear word. Admit it, they are. What was your favorite nursery rhyme growing up? Hey - if you don't have a favorite, just work with me here and pick the first one that fell off the wall and broke like an egg or came out of the sky like a cow who just jumped over the moon. *My favorite nursery rhyme? It's Baa Baa Black Sheep have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full! ;)

7. Most of us have some type of machine that people like to call 'vehicles'. Some are blue, some are yellow, some are red. Some have trunks, some have beds and some even can't decide if they are a car or a truck. We put gas in them, check the oil and drive them all over the place and stop them in places called parking spots. Picture in your mind the machine you currently own and if you own more than one, picture the one you last drove - when was the last time you had a new tire on it? * I don't have one.. It's my dad who owns it. :) I still have to buy one for me when the right time comes.. ;)

8. For those of us on Facebook, do you wish to share your Facebook identity with us? * Why not? Nobody ask though. LOL

9. Santa's coming! Where's the best place to hide presents? Any clever little tricks for keeping those nosey people from ruining the surprise? *inside the bathroom or in the cupboard haha!

10. Have you heard that the world is going to end in 2012? Some people think that the world isn't actually going to go BOOM! and be no more, they think that the "end of the world" is actually going to be a worldwide takeover by a certain country and/or religion, which all has to do with the current president of the USA. Do you agree? * I never had an idea. ;)

11. Butterly, butterfly fluttering through the air, please don't land on my freshly washed hair. What brand of shampoo did you use this morning? (and for those of you who still stink.. think of yesterday morning... and if that still doesn't apply to you - go get your stinky butt in the shower!) * Pantene is the shampoo I was using when I last washed my hair..

Hating Nightmares!

I hate nightmares! These can cause me to be half-conscious but is unable to move. It makes me want to shout but no voice can be heard. When am back to full consciousness, I would really feel very tired. It's as if I have run for many kilometers or is doing heavy duty jobs.

Lately, I thought I was gonna die because of a nightmare! I had a hard time moving my body and I felt like shouting. I saw my mom sleeping near me, attempted to shout, but she can't just hear me. I really wanted her to shake me, to move me so I can be aroused to consciousness. After many minutes of struggling, I became conscious. I really felt so tired. I even woke up my mom telling her that I had a really bad nightmare. I really felt so weak at that time and water was the next best thing to take. I drank plenty of fluids, rested for a while, then prayed hard before I shut my eyes again back to sleep.

I hope and pray this will not happen again, ever again!

Sunday Stealing: The Party Mummy Meme

Please join us on Friday for our brand new meme! Click on this image to check the first week!

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger named Sarah at the blog Lady Mama. She states that Party Mummy (she did not provide a link) insisted she do the meme. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all us thieves!

Relaxing At Eden (2009)

So glad that my group of friends did push through with our plan to have an overnight stay @ Eden Nature Park and Resort in Toril, Davao City. Of course, the said getaway last October 17-18, 2009 would not be made possible if not because of ND, our balikbayan friend who came home for a vacation after staying for more than a year as an OFW in Kuwait. Excitedly, we met up at Mercury Drug-Toril at about 2:00 PM. Since it was only DD's car who's gonna take us all up there, I went ahead with ND, AM (ND's friend), and our preggy guest who happened to be RP's wife along with KC their daughter. Friends who cannot be accomodated yet in the car took time to do their marketing job at Toril's Wet Market. My friends and I finally reached Eden after a few minutes of travel. Immediately, ND and I headed to the office for check-in. After ND paid everything, we had a shuttle ushered us to the Pine Lodge - our precious accomodation courtesy of ND. We unloaded our things and unpacked them while waiting for the others to arrive. As soon as they arrived, we immediately grabbed the chance to visit Eden's Swimming Pool. We first took pics of the pool and of ourselves. After a while, we took a dip at the pool. Funny cos it was me who got into the pool last because it's way tooooo cooooold! I was freezing and shaking vigorously! It took minutes before I got used to the cold water inside. There, we had fun chatting, giggling, sharing jokes and taking pictures! Really had a good time at the pool. It's as if we owned it privately because we're the only ones in the pool area.
Since it's already getting late, we hurried back to the lodge. Everyone took turns in using all three shower rooms while some did heed up to cook for dinner. The chef of night? It was GC. He cooked Sinigang Na Hipon and Fried Hipon. Other foods for dinner include Sinugbang Isda and Sinugbang Baboy. When everything was set, we ate dinner. It was a great dinner cos everyone's burping after (LOL!). After dinner, everybody's got into the groove to whine the night away! Guys played cards while taking some sips of liquor. Yours truly had a single sip though cos I was way too tired and sleepless after coming from a graveyard shift. I just joined in conversations, eating pica-picas and got into the move in picture taking sessions. I never had an idea up to what time they remained awake because I was fast asleep after midnight. But I did have an idea that these guys were joking around inside the bedroom. LOL!

Early morning, I was awakened by RP making some noise to wake us all up. We immediately prepared for breakfast. Breakfast was composed of beaf steak, a scrambled egg, loaves of bread, plus coffees to all coffee lovers. We ate breakfast outside just adjacent to the dining area. Only difference here is we got to feel the fresh air outside. Again we spent much time chatting while eating breakfast.

Since we hardly had enough time left, we hurriedly got ourselves fixed for our guided tour. Past 9:00AM, a shuttle took us to a tour with a tour guide in tow to make us more familiar of the places of interest inside Eden. We passed along the Fishing Village, the Deer Park, a man-made forest with tall trees, the organice and herb garden with a collection of fruit trees. We stopped along three spots such as the Flower Garden and Amphitheater where beautiful flowers are found including the Prayer Garde, the Tinubdan that gives guests a glimpse of the Lumad life, and of course Lola's Garden. We also passed along their playgrounds, campsites, and even got a grasp on the paths of their mountain trail adventure which we greatly missed doing. For our final stop, we grabbed the chance to roam around the grounds of Eden. KC and her dad grabbed the chance to play at the playgrounds while we're doing the exciting Indiana Jones adventure. After sweating out during the tour, we had some relaxation at the top garden camwhoring, LOL! These are the memories we got during our 2-day getaway:

Marco Polo Time =)

Better late than never that's why I apologize for posting this late. Last October 9, I had the chance to meet again my friends in the profession as we were gathered by Sir Ray, our foreign recruitment director, for a meeting @ The Marco Polo. It was a cozy meeting for me cos it was held in a comfortable, fully air-conditioned room situated @ the 3rd level of the hotel, exactly near the pool. The meeting was good though we kinda envied the personalities showcased in Sir Ray's VTRs wishing we could finally be like them working @ NC. Of course, the meeting wouldn't be complete without the snacks being served. We had pasta and chicken along with a large size iced-tea. The meeting only lasted for a few hours and off we went doing some pictorials, seizing the moments during our stay @ The Marco. These are the pics obtained:

Post-less Blogs

I have had an ample of blogs governed online. In fact, I even made money on some blogs during the first few months I was really into it. However, lately, I realized I never had time anymore to blog. I only visited them when I go online. Seems like I am always running out of ideas on what to write. I mean, this is so not me! I've been a certified blogger since Friendster days and I just love to write but now, I realized I never had the passion to write on some stuffs. I admit I am too busy with work and too busy with my extra-curricular activities. This must be the reasons why. Now, I'd really wanna get back into blogging which I deem to love the most and I do hope this will be realized as the days go by.

Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

9. What do you think is the biggest difference between men and women? *When it comes to relationships, men don't need reassurances for as long as they know they're being loved unlike women who always needs to be reassured that they're being loved, needed and wanted. =)

My Eyes Are Hurting Again!

My first and last eye check up was in the 3rd quarter of 2004 and oh boy, it was barely 5 years ago since I purchased my first eyeglasses. Now my eyes are constantly hurting again from strains, glares, and other stuff and I realized that now is the best time to really get in touch with my eye doctor. If I'd be able to purchase new set again, my favorite high fashion eyeglasses would be from Zenni's. These are my bets which I'd gladly like to have:

Fabulous eyeglasses, right? Now I can't really wait for my eye check up before the month ends!

Typhoon Ondoy Saddens Filipinos and the World

I've been active on Twitter and most of the persons I follow are from Manila. Earlier Saturday, September 26, 2009, I was alarmed by the tweets from Twitter that there was a continuous heavy rainfall all over Metro Manila and the northeastern part of Luzon. Sad part was when I came to see images of floods over the internet and the television as the effects of the heavy rainfall. It's really unbelievable cos I've never seen such houses drowned in the flood. Plus the aerial view of Metro Manila was so saddening. Another one that hit me most was a video clip of a family who rode a flowing rooftop off the river. Until now, I still can't believe that all these have happened. Already recited my prayers to the One Most High hoping that many Filipinos will be saved and will be given good lives. By the way, I found this heartwarming video @ Youtube. Kudos to its maker because it did touch my heart. I am now sharing this video so everyone else in this blogosphere would have an idea how Typhoon Ondoy did attack the Filipinos.

Car Becoming A Necessity

Owning a car is like being practical these days. It is not anymore a luxury but it has become a necessity especially in countries where public utility vehicles are nowhere to be found. Most of the people I know have resorted to buy cars. It is not just merely limiting to buying brand new cars but for practical reasons, a lot have opted to buy used cars for as long as they're in good running condition. In our city alone, there have been a lot of used cars for sale and are on display along the streets. I am just wondering how much does each car costs. If I were to decide I'd simply buy a used car for as long as it can serve me best.

Bro's Birthday 2009

Yesterday, my only brother celebrated his 36th birthday. To celebrate it with, family prepared foods to serve our stomachs. It was just a simple celebration but it was all worth it because the whole family celebrated it with him plus his darling daughter was also with us last night. It was just a simple celebration attended by close family members and friends. To my bro, I wish you all the best. Hope you are geared toward accomplishing your life's goals. Stay healthy and may you stop smoking na (peace!). Again, Happy Birthday Bro Jem.

Gone Addicted with Facebook

My brother is currently addicted to Facebook games. Funny cos it's just now that he's really into such games. I bet he has joined through a lot of games than the games I joined in. Every time I look into my Facebook wall, most updates are his. Well at least as far as I know he's gone addicted with them than anything else dangerous.

I'm Not Gonna Complain =)

I used to complain about things, why this can be this and why it isn't that. However, I learn to appreciate why I need not complain on things. I learn to accept why things have to be this way. I realized that perhaps I am just capable to handle such matters worth complaining about because all these have been laid on me. For now, I'd say I am one heck of a lucky person being given a lot of responsibilities to attend to because some people believe that I can! =)

Thursday Thunks: Dying, Buying, Eating, & More

Welcome to the September 10th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 999 and the color of a butterfly sitting on a red rose.

1. A 90 year old man's dying wish in South Carolina was to be buried in his car. Link If you were told tomorrow you have 3 weeks to live, would you have any dying wishes or something special done before you died? *** Yes. I wanna spend that three (3) weeks with a special someone in the beach.
2. Do you pay for more stuff using a credit/debit card or cold hard cash? *** I always pay using a cold hard cash cos I don't personally own a credit card except for the supplementary card given by my sis which I so rarely use.

3. What's cuter- a baby lizard or a baby snake? *** Any other choices? I am not really a big fan of these two but since they're down to two options perhaps I'd prefer a baby lizard than a baby snake.

4. You go out to eat by yourself at a restaurant. While waiting for your food do you people watch & easedrop on others conversations, read a book, use a laptop or chat with people around you? *** When I am eating out alone, I usually just watch other people come and go in a restaurant while waiting for my food. I don't mind what they're talking about, hehehe..

5. If you see someone walking around with toilet paper stuck to their shoe, do you tell them or just laugh? *** Perhaps I'd surely tell them about it.

6. You are talking to someone you just met but you can't understand them at all because of their accent. Do you tell them you can't understand them or just smile and nod? *** Of course, I'd tell them to repeat what they're saying. =)

7. Mudfest! Park filled with pools of mud and an obstacle course of mud. Do you go and play in the mud? *** If everybody is doing it, why not? =)

8. Have you ever had a headache so bad it effected your vision? ***I had experienced what I considered as terrible headache attacks before but they were never that worst compared to some where it has to do something with my vision (I hope and pray I won't reach that point).

9. Would you fit in more with the circus, Hollywood, Broadway, or comedy circuit types? ***I guess I'd fit more in a circus, but I'm just gonna watch and not to be among those participating in it.

Ten On Tuesdays: 10 Bad Habits You Can’t Break

So far, these are the 10 Bad Habits I can't break:

1. Nagging when I smell some cigarette smokes in the vicinity of our house
2. Getting to work really on time, say I always punch in at 6:58AM when work starts at 7:00AM.
3. Complaining deep inside when work load seems to be too heavy to handle.
4. Staying too long online which does strain my eyes.
5. Being too nice to a guy until this guy allows me to get drawn to him.
6. Eating too much at times.
7. Too OC on some things.
8. Skipping breakfast.
9. Sleeping with the TV on.
10. Falling secretly to someone whom I always consider a friend.

No Rice Policy...

Since I was in Bohol until a few days back, I noticed that I ate too much! I became a voracious eater of anything I crave about. When I checked on my weight, I noticed that I gained some pounds. Figuring out that I did gain some weight, I instantly thought of trying to dislike rice once and for all. I actually started my no-rice policy two days ago. At Pizza Hut, I did not order any rice meal. The morning after, I only had bread with pancit canton and I did not eat lunch. However, I failed to fulfill my promise during dinner time because I felt like I was starving to death. I only ate few spoonfuls but promised that I really need to adhere with my no-rice policy. I just hope I'd become successful with this quest.

Bohol and ME (2009)

Last week, my mom, sis and I went to Bohol and met some relatives there. It was an unplanned trip because supposedly, it would be my Dad who's going there with Mom. However, because Dad had to attend to some appointments, it's me who tagged along with them. We arrived Bohol via Cebu August 16, 2009 and went back to Davao August 21, 2009 just in time for the highlights of Davao's Kadayawan Festival.

Here are the recent pics I had with Bohol's finest:
